It was a physical, back-and-forth battle all game long but Batesville was able to walk away with a 2-1 victory. Hailey Mohr notched her first goal of the season in timely fashion. Mohr came off the bench at the 28 minute mark and began immediately making a mark on the game with possession and opportunities on goal. In a great combination of 1-touch and 2-touch passes, the Lady Bulldogs worked their way into Lady Tiger territory and Taylor Rowlett made the final pass to Mohr where she ripped a 1-touch shot up and over the keeper. With a 1-0 lead, Batesville had a couple more good chances on goal but could not play add-on in the first half. Lawrenceburg capitalized late in the halfwith a nice cross by Jenna Farmer and a header finish from Rylie Hutcherson. Batesville outshot Lawrenceburg 10-8 in the first half.
The JV Lady Dogs played the Lawrenceburg Tigers on Tuesday evening losing 2-0. In the first half the ladies struggled to hold the Tigers back and let two goals in. The Bulldogs defense put up a great fight and never let their heads hang. In the second half the ladies were able to shutout the Tigers and hold their line. Leading the defense were Chloe Saler and Kayla E. Meyer. The midfielders, Lily Esser and Kari Reer, helped control the second half and dictate the play. Offensively there were opportunities that the Dogs were unable to finish. The game ended in a loss of 2-0.
The Ladies play at home on Thursday against Columbus East.
