Indianapolis, In. — Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill is cautioning Hoosiers who are considering financial support for Harvey relief efforts.
Officials from the Consumer Protection Division say scammers are very active in the aftermath of a disaster. Hoosiers that are planning to donate are urged to seek out an established relief organization.
Anyone contacted directly by someone soliciting funds should be very careful. Do not give any organization personal information and try to make donations through a secure web portal to an established relief organization.
