Indiana volunteers head to Texas

Indianapolis, In. — As tropical storm Harvey sits over the Texas Gulf Coast 40 Indiana Red Cross volunteers, including the highly trained Task Force 1 Water Rescue Team are on the way. The effort is part of a national response that includes thousands of ready-to-eat meals, truckloads of kitchen supplies, water, building materials and shelter supplies.

“This is a heartbreaking and tough situation for those in the storm’s path,” said Duchess Adjei, regional communication director for the Indiana Regional of the American Red Cross. “We are proud of so many Hoosiers, hearing the call to support those who have been impacted by the destruction and devastation of Hurricane Harvey. The American Red Cross is working around the clock to provide safe shelter and comfort for the hundreds of thousands of people impacted.”
