Gary L. Mincher

Gary L. Mincher, of Friendship, was born on April 3, 1947 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of William Benjamin and Irene Megli Mincher.  On September 6, 1969 he and Nona K. Mellard were united in marriage at Our Lady of Fatima in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Gary served his country and later retired from the United States Air Force as a Major.  He was a doctor of physical therapy – in home and hospital, and also farmed.  Gary enjoyed his work and was proud of his family. He was a member of St. Philomena/St. Cecilia, and was faithful to his Church.  On July 7, 2017, at the age of 70, Gary passed away at IU Health-Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

 

Those surviving who will cherish Gary’s memory include his devoted wife of 47 years, Nona Mincher; children, Jennifer (Gregory) Gaddie of Friendship, Meggan (John) Gallagher of Yorktown, VA, Joshua (Alicia) Mincher of Friendship, and Michael Mincher of Friendship; 14 grandchildren, and a sister, Gay Madsen of Portales, NM.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

 

On Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Rosary will be prayed, followed by visitation until 12 noon at St. Philomena/St. Cecilia Church.  The funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. Howard Remski is at 12 noon.  Burial in the church cemetery will follow with military honors provided by Brookville American Legion Bernard Hurst Post #77.
