Bohman’s Walkoff Gives Bulldogs Victory Over Franklin Central.
The Bulldogs defeated Franklin Central 7-6 on Tuesday thanks to a walk-off sacrifice fly. After a two out, two run home run in the top of the seventh by Franklin Central to tie the game at six, Batesville won the game with a sacrifice fly by Joe Bohman who drove in Zach Britton.
Both offenses were strong at the plate as Batesville collected 12 hits and Franklin Central 11.
Batesville captured the lead in the first inning, as Jacob Christie drove in the first run of the game. The Bulldogs then drove in three runs in the fourth inning on a single by Christie, a walk by Joe Bohman, and a stolen base by Christian Prickel.
Zack Blomer earned the win for the Bulldogs. He tossed three innings in relief of Joe Bohman, allowing two runs, one hit, and walking one. Ford took the loss for Franklin Central. He pitched two and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs, three hits, and striking out three.
Bohman started the game for Batesville, throwing four innings, giving up four runs, ten hits, striking out two, and walking zero. Weber started the game for Franklin Central. He pitched four innings, surrendering five runs, nine hits, striking out four, and walking one.
Zach Britton, Quinn Werner, and Trey Heidlage each collected multiple hits for the Bulldogs. Britton went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Batesville in hits. Defensively, the Bulldogs were strong, as they didn’t commit a single error.
The Bulldogs improved to 12-8 overall on the year and maintain a 6-2 record in the EIAC. Batesville will play at East Central this Friday in a double header.
