Earl R. Ison

Earl R. Ison, of Everton, was born on July 4, 1941 in Hamilton, Ohio, the son of Everett and Iva Ellen McVey Ison.  He served his country from 1959 – 1965 in the United States Navy.  Earl married Iona Steele Bowles on July 16, 1994 and she survives.  He worked and later retired from Visteon as a welder, and was an active member of the Metamora Church of God and Park Road Christian Center.  Earl was a member of the Masonic Lodge #156 – Metamora, and the Honor Guard for the Connersville Post #1 American Legion.  In his spare time he was active in many other organizations and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Earl adored his family and was dedicated to his Church.  On Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the age of 75, he passed away unexpectedly at home.

 

Those surviving who will cherish Earl’s memory include his wife, Iona Ison; children, Mike (Denise) Ison, Sherry (Doug) Wright, Mark Ison, Timmy (Maria) Ison, and David Ison, all of Metamora; step-children, Penny (Greg) Kaucher of Richmond, Melanie (Del) Brewer of Glenwood, and K. Rodney (Capri) Bowles of Brookville; 19 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Judy (Ron) Jolliff of Metamora, Donna Nichols of Connersville, and Carol Sue (Herb) Halcomb of Metamora, and brothers, Wayne (Mary) Ison of Metamora and Tommy Ison of Connersville.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janie Lynn Ison.

 

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, April 14, 2017 from 4 until 8 p.m. at Metamora Church of God.  Services, officiated by Pastor Wayne Ison will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the church with burial following in Cupps Chapel Cemetery.  A graveside Masonic service will be held and the Connersville Post #1 American Legion will provide full military honors.
