A selection of the Boys Track and Field team traveled to DePauw University Friday evening for an Hoosier State Relays Indoor qualifying meet. Overall the Pirates had a successful evening competing against solid competition.
The top performance of the night was the 4x800m Relay squad of Reid McClintic, Kevin Johnson, Hunter Butz and Jared Hasslebring running an 8:51.81 for a 4th place finish.
I was pleased to watch our athletes compete and beat many teams from central and southwestern Indiana.
Some athletes will be in action again at DePauw next Friday and those that qualify for HSR will compete at IU on March 25.

The Lady Pirates Track and Field members were highly competitive at the DePauw HSR Qualifier meet Friday night in Greencastle.
Shot Put Champion, Lily Grimes, won her event out of 29 contenders with a throw of 37′ 9.75″. High Jump Champion, Arie Hampton, jumped a new indoor PR at 5’3 to win her event out of 20 competitors. Rylie Smith also ran an indoor PR in 60m hurdles advancing to the finals and placing 6th overall with a 10.18 sprint.
