DEARBORN COUNTY, Ind. — The Dearborn County Council recently approved new funding for the Rave Mobile Safety’s Smart911 system.
The county had been using Rapid Notify to provide emergency information and notification services to county residents.
Smart911 will allow people to register for notifications.
Residents can also create a profile with information such as medication list, children’s photographs, or other information that might be needed in an emergency.
It is free to sign up for, and the information travels with you wherever you go.
The new system could be up and running by mid-march.
