DECATUR COUNTY, Ind. — The Clarksburg Fire Department fought a house fire two different times on Sunday.
Early Sunday morning, firefighters responded to the residence of Richard and Barbara Niece on County Road 550 East.
When firefighters arrived on scene, they found a fire in the back room of the house.
The fire had gone up the wall into the second story.
The fire was extinguished quickly with little damage to the house.
Later in the evening, the Clarksburg Fire Department responded to another call at the same residence.
Fire officials believe the fire had rekindled in two other rooms.
The second fire weakened the structure and firefighters could only fight the fire from the outside.
Officials say the initial fire was caused by a stove pipe up against wood framing that caught the wood on fire.
