MOORES HILL, Ind. — A Moores Hill man lost his life in an accident Tuesday evening.
The Indiana State Police say they responded to a two vehicle head-on crash on Sparta Pike near State Road 350 around 6:30 PM.
Troopers determined that a mini-van being driven by Rocky McMurray, 47, of Aurora crossed the center line of the roadway into the path of a small car being driven by Steven Ahaus, 48, of Moores Hill.
Police say the two vehicles collided head-on in the middle of the roadway.
Police say Ahaus sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Dearborn County Coroner’s Office.
McMurray was transported to the Dearborn County Hospital before being transferred to the University of Cincinnati Hospital for treatment of internal injuries.
State police say alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash, and say that McMurray tested over twice the legal limit on a breath test at the scene.
