Congressman Luke Messer and Ball State University announced the creation of the Congressional Leadership Academy for Indiana’s 6th District scholars.
The one day event will connect successful and engaged high school juniors in our area with CEOs, business leaders and other invited experts working in areas critical to Indiana’s economy.
The academy will recognize and reward civic engagement and scholastic excellence.
Interactive experiences and panels will focus on advanced manufacturing, energy, emerging media, and life sciences. Students will interact with leaders from various Hoosier businesses including Hillenbrand Incorporated.
Chris Lowery, Director of Public Policy and Engagement at Hillenbrand Inc., said the Congressional Leadership Academy is good for both the students and the community.
“It really works on bringing together students who are doing well, business leaders from this part of the state and higher education,” he said.
Two students from each high school in the Sixth congressional district will be chosen to participate in the full-day event on Ball State’s campus.
