William P. “Bill” Dierking, 59, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Friday November 11, 2016 in Lawrenceburg, IN.
He was born August 17, 1957 in Cincinnati, OH, son of Mildred Becker Dierking and the late Edward Dierking.
Bill spent much of his working life assisting the operation of the family business at Dierking Coal & Recreation. He also worked at Crider Moving & Storage, and Delta Airlines.
He was a life member of St. Johns Lutheran Church of Aurora, was a past council president and also served on the St. John School Board. Bill attended St. John Lutheran School, graduated from Aurora High School and attended Purdue University. He played baseball in high school and club ball at Purdue; he was an avid sports fan. Bill was a coach for kids sports teams and also an umpire, he umpired various games for knot hole and little league. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking and refinishing furniture. Bill loved time with family and he will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his mother, Mildred “Mid” Dierking of Aurora, Indiana, daughter, Kaitlin Allery Dierking of Northern Kentucky, siblings, Carl (Becky) F Dierking of Juno, Alaska, Carolynne (Gary) R. Johnson of West Chester, Ohio and Thomas (Melissa) E. Dierking of Ross, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his father Edward.
Friends will be received Saturday, November 19, 2016, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at St. John Lutheran Church, 220 Mechanic Street, Aurora, IN.
Services will be held at the Church at 12:00 pm with Pastor Edward Davis officiating.
