SWITZERLAND COUNTY, In – A 6-year-old boy was killed in a crash involving an ATV and pickup truck in Switzerland County Tuesday evening.
Investigators say Alex Scudder, 6, was attempting to cross McCreary Ridge Road in Florence, Indiana, on his ATV when he was struck by a Chevy truck around 5:30 p.m.
The pickup driver, Miles Hunt, 42, was traveling south on the road when he collided with the ATV.
Scudder was pronounced dead at the scene.
Indiana Conservation Officers strongly encourage riders to always wear a helmet and necessary equipment when operating an ATV.
The crash remains under investigation and no charges have been filed.
