Trojans Sweep Knights In Middle School Football

Football 50 Yard LineThe Sunman-Dearborn Trojans traveled to South Dearborn Tuesday night for a 7th and 8th grade football battle.

The 7th grade Trojans came away with a low scoring win in the first game. The first score came from a Devon Donanworth carry for touchdown, capped off with a successful 2 point conversion pass from Gabe Patton to David Badescu. The Trojans next score came in the second half when Andrew Struewing carried the ball for a touchdown. Late in the game the South Dearborn’s Shawn Fisher got the ball back into the Squire’s hands recovering a Trojan fumble, but they were not able to capitalize on the turnover. Trojans win 14-0.

The 8th grade Trojans kept their win streak alive with another win 25-0. Eric Rosemeyer ran the ball in for the first two Trojan touchdowns. Alex Maxwell would have the other two Trojan trips to the end zone with a carry and a 48 yard catch from Isaiah Wheat. Maxwell and Rosemeyer were the main ball carriers with 98 yards and 37 yards respectively. Despite completing only 4 of 11 passes, Wheat still passed for 100 yards. His main receivers were Maxwell for 67 yards and Jack Hutchins for 34.

The Trojans will be back in action next week with a 7th/8th grade game welcoming Greensburg on Tuesday and traveling to LaSalle on Thursday for Tower Titans.
