(Batesville, IN) — The Batesville Area Arts Council honored five individuals and organizations during its annual Celebration of the Arts on Aug. 18 at the Batesville Memorial Public Library Arts & Innovation Hub.
The event brought together community members, artists, educators, volunteers and supporters to recognize contributions to the arts in the Batesville area.
BAAC said this year’s honorees represent the service, creativity, partnership and dedication that help strengthen the arts throughout the community.

2026 Celebration of the Arts honorees:
- President’s Award: Amanda Jensen
- Arts in Education Award: Lynn DiMuzio
- Volunteer of the Year: Batesville Fire Department
- Organization of the Year: Batesville Memorial Public Library
- Lifetime Theater Award: Jim Powell
Jensen received the President’s Award, while DiMuzio was recognized for her work in arts education.
The Batesville Fire Department was named Volunteer of the Year, and Batesville Memorial Public Library was selected as Organization of the Year. The library also served as the host site for this year’s Celebration of the Arts.

Powell received the Lifetime Theater Award in recognition of his longtime support of and participation in local theater.
BAAC also credited local artists, educators, businesses, volunteers, community organizations, members and patrons with helping keep arts programs active and accessible throughout the Batesville area.
Membership drive underway
BAAC is now holding its annual membership drive, which continues through Sept. 18.
This year’s campaign includes an Arts in Education incentive for local schools. The school receiving the highest total membership benefit during the drive will receive an additional $500 in Arts in Education funding from BAAC.
