John Robert Kinkade, age 59 of Versailles, passed away at the UC Hospital in Cincinnati surrounded by his family on Sunday January 14. He was born on February 14, 1964, the son of the late Ester Mae Weyant in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and raised by Virl and Phyllis (Swope) Kinkade.
He graduated high school and continued taking college courses and studied diesel mechanic at Lincoln Tech. He spent his career driving trucks around the country. In the late 1990’s while driving for Baylor Trucking, a smiling face in the office caught his attention. He made it clear early on he was going to marry Nancy Dilk, and in fact on July 27, 2000, that became reality. They would be celebrating their 23rd anniversary this summer.
John was passionate about his family and adored his grandchildren. They simply were the center of his world. He had driven up until a year ago before his sickness forced retirement.
He will be dearly missed by wife Nancy, daughters; Amanda Trese, Rachel Hall, Tammy Jo Kinkade, Kayleigh (Luke) Prather, Ashley Hall, and Jennifer Kinkade, brothers Bill Griswold and Jim Griswold, sisters Debbie (Butch) Hansen and Lisa Bochey, nieces; Lauren (Jordan) Elder, Brittany (Nick) Mittrucker, and Danielle (Marvin) Legiste, Uncle Tom Prosser, grandchildren; Lacy, Harmony, Malachi, Vaughn, Bella, Elijah, Liam, Ryleigh, Neoma, Gemma, Malia, Tamara Jo, Dakota, and Kierstian. He was preceded in death by his parent and his beloved Aunt Peggy Prosser.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday January 17, 2024, from 1-3 pm. At Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm., also at Neal’s. Memorials can be given to St Jude’s Childrens Hospital in care of the funeral home. Online condolences can be placed at Nealsfuneralhome.net
