John W. Deckard, 71, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022, in Fairfield, Ohio.
He was born June 17, 1951, in Milan, Indiana, son of the late Carl Deckard and Elva (Powers) Deckard.
John worked as a cashier for Rising Star Casino, with several years of service.
John enjoyed fishing and reading, especially science fiction novels. Most of all he loved being with his family, and he will be missed by them all.
John is survived by his loving spouse, Melody (Wingate) Deckard, daughters, Heather (Shawn) McClanahan of Moores Hill, IN, Kristin Deckard of Moores Hill, IN; siblings, Carlee (Donald) King of GA, Arthur “Artie” (Mary Ellen) Deckard of PA; grandchildren, Alex McClanahan, Cade McClanahan, Kylie McClanahan, Colten Barrows, and Avery Herald; sister in law, Jackie Deckard; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Elva Deckard; brother Joe Deckard and sister Cheryl Hyde.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
