Man found in field identified

Columbus, IN—The Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the man whose body was discovered two days ago in a cornfield by a farmer. Coroner Clayton Nolting said 39-year-old Danny Ray Green, of Columbus, was found around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, in a field near Indianapolis Road, north of Tellman Road.

Nolting ordered an autopsy, which was performed Friday morning at Columbus Regional Health by a forensic pathologist. Findings from the autopsy, including toxicology, should be available to investigators in approximately two weeks.

The victim’s family has been notified of the death.
