The Batesville Lady Bulldog Softball team defeated the Lions of Rushville tonight by a score of 2-1. Another solid night of pitching by senior Paige Oldham backed by a stellar defense held the Lions to just one un-earned run.

The Bulldogs put two runs on the scoreboard in the first inning. A lead off single by Kylie Laker, a walk by Sydnee Scheafer and a single by Emma Belter set up a sacrifice fly RBI by Oldham. Renee Lecher then singled to score Belter. The Bulldog’s stranded 12 runners in the next 6 innings.

Rushville’s only run came in the second inning after an error on a short fly to left field with a runner at third allowing the runner to advance home after the drop. The only real threat to the Bulldog’s lead came in the 5th inning with the bases loaded with no outs. Rushville grounded to Lecher where she got the force out at home.
