This is the first in a series of bios of area boys and girls basketball coaches. I will be sprinkling these into my weekly Huddle Ups. My goal is to eventually cover all coaches in all the sports sometime in the next year. I hope you enjoy learning something new about each of the coaches!
Darrick Cox is presently the girls basketball coach at Batesville High School. Darrick is a graduate of Batesville High School, and while he was a student he participated in cross country, track, and basketball. He attended Franklin College and he played basketball for the Franklin Grizzlies during his time there.
Before becoming the BHS girls coach, Darrick coached middle school girls in Connersville and also 9th grade basketball boys. He has been the varsity girls coach for 6 years. Besides coaching, Darrick is a social studies teacher in the Batesville School system.
Darrick is married to Casey, and they have 3 children–Kenzie (11), Cameron (10), and Colton (6). You can hear Darrick every Monday on Coaches Corner through the girls season!
