Verne Lundquist, who has broadcast NCAA football & basketball and CBS golf for many years, has decided that at the age of 77 he needs to slow down. He will not disappear from sport broadcasting completely, but he will no longer be broadcasting the SEC football games. He has been their announcer for 17 years.
According to the Indy Star, Brad Nessler will take over for Lundquist. His partner will be Gary Danielson. Brad and Gary worked together before at ESPN.
Verne is starting to fade into the sunset with long-time broadcasting legend, Brent Musberger. You will, however, see Verne doing basketball games during the NCAA tournament.
