World Record Achieved In Brookville

A new Guinness World Record was set this weekend in Brookville for the longest wiffle ball game ever played.

Two 5-member teams played for 310 innings which took just over 29 hours.

A group from Oregon previously held the record for the longest wiffle ball game at 25 hours.

State Representative Jud McMillin participated in the game saying the most difficult time was around 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

“It was really a lot of ups and downs. There were times we felt really good and other times when it was just really exhausting and overwhelming,” McMillin recalled. “But, we really got rejuvenated when the sun came back up. We were able to push on through and guys were able to play for a little while again.”

The world record attempt helped raise money for Safe Passage. McMillin estimated Saturday that they reached their goal of $5,000.

“It was really neat to see people step up to the plate to help Safe Passage out. We had people stop by the wiffle ball game who would share their personal story with us and say they had been a victim of situations Safe Passage can help in,” McMillin said.
