Willie C. Taylor, 66, of Holton passed away Friday, April 4, 2014 at his home. He was born at Nashville, Tennessee on February 22, 1947 the son of Willie Sr. and Sylvia Goad Taylor. He was married to Carrol Kelly on May 19, 1969 and she survives. Other survivors include one son Kenny (Judy) Taylor of Bankston, Alabama; one daughter Teresa (John) O’Neil of Friendship; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Taylor was a 1965 graduate of Red Boiling Springs High School and was also a 32 year employee of Cummins Engine in Columbus. He had also worked for the Indiana State Highway and for Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg. Willie was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Osgood. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 8th at 12pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Father Frank Eckstein officiating. Burial will be in the Holton West Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10am until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice.

The Annual 21st Crackaway Daze Festival will be held on September 20 – 21 at the Saltcreek Township Park in New Point, Indiana (located 8 miles east of Greensburg or 6 miles west of Batesville on Hwy 46 or south 850 just off of I-74 Exit 143. Park is on left along Hwy 46). Parade at 11:00 am on Saturday. Flea market in the park (contact Rosa at 812-593-7611 or email at rosa@etczone.com). Great food for both days (roast plus more on Saturday). Our famous fried chicken with all the trimmings on Sunday, served by the New Point Kiwanis Club. Homemade ice cream by Smyrna Church. Fun for the kids and adults (bed race, antique cars and trucks and farm equipment, kettle bean soup). Entertainment, drawings (50/50 pot), hot dog stand, snow cones and much more!
