Howard Wayne Ashcraft, 54, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away at 10:00 PM, Saturday, June 4th, 2016 at his residence. Wayne was born in Lawrenceburg, IN on June 3, 1962, a son of Alice (Thies) Ashcraft and the late Albert Henry Ashcraft. He was a graduate of Rising Sun High School Class of 1981 and also attended ITT Tech in Indianapolis. Wayne served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked as a lead slot tech at Rising Star Casino in Rising Sun, IN. Wayne was a former Cub and Boy Scout leader. He enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking and tinkering with anything that needed fixed. Wayne also loved to ride his motorcycle. On May 5, 1989 in Rising Sun, IN he married Susan Marie (Kittle) Ashcraft who survives him. Wayne was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather and brother who will be deeply missed.
In addition to his loving wife Susan, Wayne is survived three daughters, Creola Michelle Chase (Mike) of Fairview, IN; Grace Marie Bright of Greenwood, IN; Alicia Ann Ashcraft of Rising Sun, IN; by two sons, Joshua Wayne Ashcraft and Michael David Ashcraft of Rising Sun, IN; by his mother Alice Ashcraft of Rising Sun, IN; by grandchildren: Syndi, Aylah, & Brylee Chase, Trevor Ferrari, Thomas Etzel, Jr. (Little T), Lily and Alex Bright, & Isac Howard Ashcraft; by Father & Mother-in-law David and Evelyn Kittle; brother-in-law Raymond Kittle; sisters-in-law Diane Scudder (Dale) and Jolie Zielke all of Rising Sun, IN; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be 1 PM, Thursday, June 9 at the Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Friends are invited to call Thursday 10AM-1PM at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the family. marklandfuneralhome.com
