Virginia S. “Ginger” Stowell, 69, of Rising Sun, IN passed away Friday, May 16, 2014 at her residence. She is survived by her husband, William ‘Bill’ Stowell, her son, Brett Stowell and by brothers, Harold & Ronald Looney. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 22, at the Rising Sun Church of Christ. Friends are invited to call Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at the Markland Funeral Home, Rising Sun, IN. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at the Memorial Park in Tulsa, OK. Memorial donations may be made to the Rising Sun Church of Christ.marklandfuneralhome.com

The Batesville Masonic Lodge 668 will be having an all-you-can-eat breakfast on Saturday, February 6 from 5 – 10 am. Cost is $7 for adults; $5 for kids age 6 – 12; and free for kids under 6 years. Carryouts available.

Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) training is February 5 and 12 from 5:30 – 9 pm, and February 6 and 13 from 8 am – 4 pm at the Southeastern IN YMCA in Batesville. Prospective volunteers who want to aid children must fill out applications ahead of time.
