Two Injured After Wednesday Car Accident

Two people were hospitalized Wednesday after a single vehicle accident on State Road 101 near Fox Run Road.

Franklin County Deputies responded to the scene shortly after 1 p.m. following a crash involving a 2012 Kia Sedona.

36-year-old Jason Fletcher was operating the vehicle that traveling north on S.R. 101. According to crash investigators, the car went off the west side of the roadway and over a steep embankment.

Fletcher was transported by Air Care to University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio for treatment of back injuries.

A 21-year-old female passenger in the vehicle was sent to McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford for treatment.

Police say Fletcher told them that he “blacked out” prior to going off the roadway.

Family members, caregivers and others interested in Alzheimer’s Disease and/or a related dementia are invited to attend a care and support workshop on Saturdays, July 23 & 30, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Margaret Mary Hospital’s Auditorium in Batesville. The workshop, What Families Need to Know…When the Diagnosis is Alzheimer’s Disease or a Related Dementia, is being offered by the Greater Cincinnati Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.  Topics include the various types of diagnoses; stages and treatments of dementia; strategies to cope with daily challenges such as communication and behaviors; information about legal and financial planning including Advance Directives; and identifying community services such as respite and long-term care.
