Twins add Alex Meyer to 40-man roster

Meyer graduated from Greensburg High School in 2008.

GREENSBURG, Ind. –Alex Meyer is one step closer to pitching in the Major Leagues as the Minnesota Twins added the Greensburg High School grad to the 40-man roster.

The local product started 27 games last year for the Twins’ Triple-A affiliate Rochester Red Wings posting a 3.52 ERA.

The 40-man roster is composed of players who are signed to a major-league contract and can be called up to the big leagues at any time during the season.

The Cincinnati Reds will host the Twins at Great American Ball Park next season from June 29th through July 1st.
