Tornado Watch Cancelled For SE Ind. *Update*

Update (8:15 p.m.)

The National Weather Service has cancelled the tornado watch Sunday evening.

Isolated showers and thunderstorms are moving through the region Sunday night. The extended forecast shows a chance of rain Monday with temperatures in the 70’s through the week.

First Report (2:40 p.m.)

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for much of Southeastern Indiana until 9 p.m. Sunday.

Counties included in the watch are Dearborn, Fayette, Franklin, Ohio, Ripley, Switzerland, Union and Wayne.

Forecasters say it is possible to see severe weather including large hail, damaging winds and an isolated tornado.

A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms to form, but it also means that a few storms may be capable of producing a tornado.

A tornado warning means that a tornado is either occurring or imminent based on radar.

WRBI is tracking the storms and will get the word out on any severe weather both on-air and online.
