STL 5th & 6th Graders Win Against St. Nicholas

basketballThe St. Louis Cardinals 5th grade boys basketball team defeated St. Nicholas by a score of 26-14 tonight at the St Louis Activity Center.

The Cardinals took control of the game early and never looked back. Solid execution on the offensive side of the ball and staunch defense were keys to the win. One of the most exciting moments of the season so far occurred when Noah Tuveson hit a full court buzzer beater at the end of the 3rd quarter. The gym erupted in cheers to celebrate the awesome shot! The team was led in scoring by Charlie Schebler (15), Noah Tuveson (3), Ben Harmeyer (2), Nathan Reder (2), Nate Vankirk (2) and Cy Muckerheide (2). Conner Ertel, Luke Meyer and Luke Meer also played terrific in the win!

The next game will be Tuesday night, December 1, at home against St. Paul at 6:00pm. Please come out to the game and cheer on the Cardinals!

The St. Louis 6th grade team was home against St. Nicholas Tuesday
evening and was able to extend their winning streak by defeating the
visiting team 36-8.

It was a complete team effort with 7 Cardinals contributing to the scoring effort. Joseph Suttman, Ryan Reder, CJ Grote and Luke Wilson were the top scorers. Adam Vogelsang and Spencer Mack had a very nice game rebounding, scoring and defense. Cayden Pohlman shut down much of their offense with a career game in steals. It was a relentless rebounding effort and defense that lead to most of the Cardinal’s points
and the victory.
