State home sales up compared to last year

INDIANAPOLIS – The number of homes being sold statewide increased by nine percent last month compared to the year prior.

There were 570 more homes sold in Indiana in October than during the same month of 2013.

The data released by the Indiana Association of REALTORS shows October home sale prices were also better than last year. The median sale price of 126-thousand dollars is a four percent difference from 2013.

October home sales in Batesville were $1 million compared to October 2013 at $1.3 million. There were five homes sold in October compared to eleven in the same month last year.

The 63,680 homes sold statewide thus far in 2014 is just a 2.4 percent decrease from the same point in time of last year.
