State Asks Residents To Check Trees For Beetles

INDIANAPOLIS – State officials are asking Indiana residents the check trees for the invasive forest insects called Asian longhorned beetles.

The beetles have been documented in Cincinnati and officials believe they could soon be in Indiana. The bug poses as a threat to several species of trees found in Indiana. A tree could be killed if infested by the beetles.

DNR officials ask residents to specifically check their maple trees and report any that might be infested.
