Roland C. Foreman, age 80, of Laurel, Indiana died Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at his residence.
Born December 21, 1933 in Franklin County, Indiana he was the son of the late Wilbur & Lily Foreman. He was a Veteran of the United States Army.
On April 16, 1972 he was united in marriage to the former Gertie Lee Propes, and she survives. He was retired from IMI in Indianapolis, Indiana where he had worked as a loader operator for many years. He attended the First Baptist Church of Laurel.
Besides Gertie, his wife of over 42 years, survivors include four daughters, Brenda (Brent) Jones of Carmel, Indiana, Cindy (Jerry) Becker of Seattle, Washington, Charlene (Jeff) Hunter of Laurel, Indiana and Darlene Yaekle of Brookville, Indiana; one son & daughter-in-law, Edward Thomas (Carolyn) Hahn of Shelbyville, Indiana; 10 grandchildren as well as seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.
Family & friends may visit from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Friday, May 23, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Laurel, 218 West Main Street, Laurel, Indiana.
Pastor John Jordan will officiate the Funeral Services on Friday, May 23, 2014, 1:00 P.M. at the Laurel First Baptist Church. Burial with full military graveside honors by the Bernard Hurst Post #77 of the American Legion will then follow in Laurel North Cemetery in Laurel, Indiana.

The Batesville United Methodist Church, in partnership with Margaret Mary Health, will soon be offering a cancer support group whose goal is to ensure access to valuable community resources to those living with cancer. The group will also provide hope, encouragement, education and sanctuary. HOPE will meet on the last Thursday of each month at 5:30 PM at the Batesville United Methodist Church and will feature a guest speaker, time for topic discussion and fellowship. The Batesville community and beyond are invited to attend! The first session is scheduled for Thursday, June 26 and will feature a discussion around the emotional rollercoaster of cancer and the fear of recurrence.
