Robert Paul Garrett, 73, of Patriot, IN passed away Friday, May 2, 2014 at his residence. He is survived by  his wife, Doris Garrett, by a son, Robert Paul Garrett, Jr., by daughters, Marsha Susshine, Lisa Brown & Michele Durham, by a brother, Carl Edward Garrett, by sisters, Juanita Prather, Janet Hooper & Marlene Lewis and by 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, May 12, 2014,  at the Markland Funeral Home, Rising Sun, IN. Visitation will be Monday May 12, 2014, 11AM until time of service. Memorials may be made to the Temple Baptist Church or Dearborn County Hospice.marklandfuneralhome.com

The 2nd Annual Dearborn County Turns Hazzard County will be held on Friday, August 7 from 4 – 10 pm and Saturday, August 8 from 8 am – 6 pm at the Lawrenceburg Fairgrounds. Benefit for Madison Kremer C.H.A.R.G.E. Syndrome Foundation and Autism Awareness. Events and activities featured include: guest appearance from original cast members of “The Dukes of Hazzard,” surprise guest appearances, redneck car show and swap meet, Daisy Duke look-alike contest, carnival games for the kids, live music, food and vendors, hood slide contest. Advance tickets $20 for both days or $15 at gate per day. Special needs folks get in free. Bring your lawn chairs!
