Ripley County Women Arrested on Multiple Drug Charges

drug-bustGREENSBURG, Ind. — Two Ripley County women are facing drug-related charges after they were stopped for a minor traffic violation.

According to police, Jessica L. Merida, 41, of Osgood, and Deborah L. Brewer, 52, of Versailles, were arrested Friday afternoon after the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department stopped them after a minor traffic violation.

A K-9 officer alerted other officers to the presence of drugs.

Officers found an ounce of methamphetamine on Merida, and legend drugs and drug paraphernalia in Merida’s purse.

A 3-year old boy was taken from the scene by the Decatur County Department of Family and Children.

4 cell phones were recovered and handed over to the Ripley County Sheriff’s Department for an ongoing investigation.

Merida and Brewer were both booked into the Decatur County Jail on multiple preliminary charges.
