Ripley County Native Appointed Chief Deputy

A veteran police officer has been promoted at the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office.

Lieutenant Randy Holt has been assigned as Chief Deputy. The position is appointed by the sheriff and holds the rank of Major. Holt now becomes second in command at the department led by interim Sheriff Rodney Stratton.

Holt is an 18-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office and a lifelong resident of Ripley County. He graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in 1994.

Both Holt and Stratton have a combined 54 years of law enforcement experience.
