Retired Chief Deputy, Major Loren Baker Missed by Franklin County Sheriff’s Department

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ind. — With sad hearts, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department announces the passing of Retired Chief Deputy, Major Loren Douglas Baker.

Major Baker began his career in early 1981, and retired in August of 2015.

Major Baker was an integral part in the foundation of the Sheriff’s Department during that time.

The Department family grew from 4 sworn deputies to 13 during his career.

Major Baker’s influences can still be seen in every area of the office.
