WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep Luke Messer (R-Ind) has been elected chair of the House Policy Committee, the fifth-ranking GOP leadership role.

Messer received more votes than Rep. Tom Reed (R-New York) and Rep. Rob Woodall (R-Georgia).

He will begin work as chairman when Congress comes together in January.
