Jud McMillin (R-Brookville) has championed major initiatives like revamping Indiana’s Criminal Code earlier this year.

INDIANAPOLIS — State Rep. Jud McMillin (R-Brookville) was elected by the Indiana House of Representatives Majority Caucus to the leadership role of Floor Leader.

“It is an honor to be elected as House Majority Floor Leader which is an incredible opportunity to strengthen our community,” said Rep. McMillin. “Growing up and living in southeast Indiana, I understand the needs and issues impacting our area of the state, so I look forward to building on the progress we made last session and continuing my work to improve Indiana for Hoosier families.”

Rep. McMillin was first elected to the Indiana House of Representatives in 2010 and has served as Chairman of the Courts and Criminal Code Committee as well as Vice-chairman of the Rules and Legislative Procedures Committee.

He has championed major initiatives like revamping Indiana’s Criminal Code and authoring legislation to reduce the size and scope of government.

In his new role as Floor Leader, Rep. McMillin will assist leadership in carrying out decisions and steering floor action to accomplish the House Republican 2015 Legislative Agenda.

“Although Indiana is on the brink of unheralded growth, we must continue to look for ways we can improve our state like making our communities safer and improving our education system,” said Rep. McMillin.

“We must continue to look for creative and innovative solutions to problems Indiana is facing, and I look forward to working towards that goal next session.”
