Reds Caravan Will Appear At Sherman House

Pitchers and catchers report for spring training in just over a month, and you have the chance to meet some Reds players and personnel before the season begins.

The west tour of the Reds Caravan will visit the Sherman House in Batesville on Thurs., Jan. 23 from 10-11 a.m.

Those scheduled to appear include Hall of Fame Broadcaster Marty Brennaman, catcher Bryan Pena, broadcaster and former player Doug Flynn, Assistant GM Bob Miller, minor league catcher Tucker Barnhart and mascot Gapper.

Tickets are only $15 and includes a breakfast between 9-10 a.m. There is a limited quantity of tickets and they can be purchased at the Sherman House.

Volunteers are need for all-day or half-day butterfly counts at the Big Oaks National Wildlife Reserve. Bring water, bug spray, sunscreen, snacks or lunch and binoculars and meet at the refuge office on Saturday morning August 1 between 7:45 am – 8 am. A $3.00 donation to the North American Butterfly Association for those participating in the count would be appreciated. Survey teams will be divided up based on the length of time you wish to spend in the field. Contact Joe Robb at joe_robb@fws.gov to register.
