The Batesville Tennis Team was defeated 3-2 by Richmond on Saturday in the Regional Championship.
#1 Singles- Beau Brown was defeated by Eric Hollingsworth 0-6, 0-6
#2 Singles- Blake Walsman defeated Jordan Lake 6-3, 6-1
#3 Singles- Ben Schwettman was defeated by Logan Mayer 1-6, 1-6
#1 Doubles- Matthew Taylor and Spencer Rose were defeated by Ross Doughty and Jacob Weiss 6-2, 1-6, 3-6
#2 Singles- Harsh Patel and Paul Ritter defeated Daniel Jones and Justin Gibbel 6-2, 6-1
Batesville finished the season with an 18-5 record and were Sectional and EIAC champions.
“I could not be more proud of this team. After losing six seniors, these guys stepped up and got the most out of their abilities. We accomplished a lot of great things and improved tremendously throughout the season.” Batesville Coach Mike McKinney.
