Raymond E. Heck, 72 of Reynoldsburg, formerly of Lawrenceburg, Indiana passed away on January 23, 2014 at Mt.Carmel East Hospital. Ray was born December 3, 1941 to the late Elmo and Marian Heck of Lawrenceburg, Indiana. He was an U.S. Air Force veteran during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the American Legion. He earned his Associate Degree from University of Cincinnati. Ray is retired from Anheuser-Busch as the Maintenance Supervisor. He loved antique tractors and was a member of many clubs including Land of Legends, Massey Harris Club and IHC Collectors and the SE Indiana FARM Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Shirley Heck; son, R. Chris Heck; brothers, Chuck (Sherri) Heck, Roy (Patty) Heck; and many nieces & nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2014, 10:00 a.m., at the ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1051 S. Waggoner Road, Reynoldsburg, with Msgr. David Funk officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ray’s memory to Mt. Carmel Hospiceor to SE Indiana FARM Club. Funeral arrangement handled by Pfeifer Funeral Home

The Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 3183 is sponsoring an art contest for students in grades 9-12. The contest is a great way to earn money for college. The art must be on paper or canvas and have a patriotic theme. Digital Art is not accepted. The art must be original. Judging is based on originality, presentation, and patriotism expressed. There are monetary awards given locally and at the state level. The national winners will receive scholarships. Home schooled students are eligible, foreign exchange are not. Your entry must be signed by a teacher. You can obtain an entry form by calling Kay Pulskamp, chairperson at 934-3442. Please submit your art by March 31, 2015. The first place winner will be sent to the State Scholarships Chairman for judging. Your art will be returned to you after judging is complete.
