Ray H. Meeker, age 74 of Lawrenceburg, IN, formerly of Osgood, IN , passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 at the Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg, IN . He was born August 12, 1939 in Remmington, OH . His parents were Ray & Nora B. Whitaker Meeker . Ray’s father died very early in life, & his mother married Clyde Meeker who lovingly helped raise him.  
Ray was a man who loved life & people ! He was an entrepreneur & renaissance man. He had been successfully involved in different businesses throughout his life.  Collecting arts, guns & antiques along with cooking, hunting, fishing & boating were some of the hobbies that Ray enjoyed. 
He had presently owned & operated the Jewelers Box in Lawrenceburg, In . He will be sadly missed by family & many friends.

He was preceded in death by 1 grandson, Maxwell Carl Heckman in 1999.
 
Visitation:  Wednesday, December 18, 2013/ Neal’s Funeral Home/ 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
 
Funeral:  Thursday, December 19, 2013/ Church of The Savior UN Methodist, 8005 Pfeiffer Road, Cincinnati, OH 45242/11:00 am
He will lie in state at the church from 10:00 am until the funeral.

St. Louis Catholic Church is having their Mock Turtle Soup Sale! Monday, September 15- noon-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 16- 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 17-Friday, September 19- 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Sunday, September 21- during the annual St. Louis Church Festival, theMock Turtle Soup will be available for sale until it’s gone. Please enter through the Activity Center doors only! The soup will also be available through the week at Schmidt’s Bakery during their normal business hours. If you have any empty quart, half-gallon, or gallon jars you can spare (or canning lids and/or rings), you can bring them to the SLS Activity Center or Schmidt’s Bakery, as jars and lids are still needed to bottle the soup throughout the week.

Friends of Batesville Memorial Public Library is having their used book and media sale on Sept. 18-20, Thurs-Sat. from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. at the Library Annex on 10 W. Boehringer St.  Prices range from 25 cents to $1.  Special sale is $2 per bag on Saturday at 3 p.m. Over 8,000 books are available.
