BROOKVILLE, Ind. – Growing up, Paige Rawl was a pageant winner, cheerleader, soccer player, and now a molecular biology major at Ball State University.

There is something else you should know. She was born HIV positive.

The 19-year-old Indiana native tells her story in “Positive,” a newly-released book that details her journey through school battling immense bullying which eventually led to her having to be homeschooled.

She is now a nationally acclaimed author, youth speaker, and HIV activist advocating against bullying.

Rawl visits Franklin County High School on October 16 to educate students on the dangers of bullying and spread awareness of HIV.

She will also share her story at the Brookville Library at 5 p.m. the same day.

The author and activist will be featured on NBC’s Today Show on November 14.
