Quick Action Nets Theft, Drug Arrest In Aurora

Aurora Police say it was a case of right place, right time when a man came running out of the Aurora Walmart.

Officers saw Alonzo Davis, 41, of Dewey Beach, Delaware, running from the grocery side entrance of the store while store security officers were yelling “he just tried to steal something.”

Davis allegedly entered into a white Dodge Caravan with a Kansas license plate.

Aurora Police Chief Josh Daugherty says his officers saw Davis frantically reaching into the center console of the vehicle. Authorities say they later discovered crystal meth and a glass pipe in the center console.

Police allege Davis attempted to steal $674 worth of merchandise from the store.

He has been charged with theft, possession of methampetamines, and possession of paraphernalia.
