The search for a Rush County man and his son ended tragically in Greensburg on Tuesday night.

According to police, they were found dead in a vehicle of apparent gunshot wounds in a Greensburg city park.

44-year-old Gregory Hall picked his 14-year-old son Tyler up from Greensburg Junior High and didn’t bring him to the boy’s mother at the appointed time, according to reports.

Authorities in Rush County were searching for Hall Tuesday night and within an hour officers in Greensburg located the vehicle.

Police suspect Hall fatally shot his son prior to turning the gun on himself. Police have not confirmed that it was a murder-suicide.

Autopsies will be conducted on Thursday in Marion County.

This story is still developing WRBI will report more information when available.
