GREENSBURG, Ind. – An Indianapolis couple is accused of passing fake $100 bills at businesses around Greensburg.

Brian Keith Quarles Jr., 32, and Taylor Jo Nee Ware, 19, allegedly attempted to pass a counterfeit bill at Greensburg Shoe Show on Friday, Oct. 3, the Greensburg Daily News reports.

Investigators say the couple also attempted to pass a fake $100 bill at Bath and Body Works in Greensburg and bought a sandwich and drink at Greensburg’s Jimmy John’s with the counterfeit money.

The suspects were arrested after a Greensburg Shoe Show employee called police. Authorities say they discovered an additional 14 fake $100 bills on Ware at the Decatur County Jail.

The pair is charged with two counts of felony counterfeiting, a charge that can lead to a two-year prison sentence and $10,000 fine if convicted.

Both suspects bonded out of jail and have scheduled court appearances this week at Decatur County Superior Court.
