The Greensburg Pirates found themselves in another defensive match on Saturday morning against Rushville, losing 2-0 to the Lions.
The first Rushville goal came in the first half after the Lions transitioned nicely and slipped through the Pirate defense to take a 1-0 lead. The second came shortly after on a penalty kick. The Pirates went into halftime down 2-0 and were able to shut out the Lions for the second half, not allowing anymore goals in for the last 40 minutes.
Despite the 2-0 score, Greensburg had standout defensive play from freshmen Trevor Lee, Nicholas Zapfe, sophomore Trevin White, and senior Logan Yeager.
The Pirates will be back in action on Thursday to take on East Central at home. The game starts at 5:00pm.
