Osgood Officials Mulling New Cat Policy

OSGOOD – Town Council members are trying to figure out how to handle a reoccurring issue that is becoming a real pet peeve to some residents.

Council has received several complaints regarding cats defecating in the yard of other property owners in town.

According to the Osgood Journal, a new ordinance was presented at a recent meeting that if approved, would essentially allow a property owner to apprehend a cat. If the pet is not claimed within five days the property owner would have the right to get rid of the cat as deemed fit.

The board did not make a decision and plans to further discuss the motion at a future meeting.
