Cancer is a disease that affects two in every five Americans according to the American Cancer Society. Whether it’s a grandparent, spouse, child, friend or coworker, chances are you’ve been touched by this horrible disease at some point in your life.

But there is hope. Walkers will go around the clock in the battle against cancer when the 19th annual American Cancer Society Relay For Life of RIPLEY COUNTY) gets underway with teams of residents gathering at the Batesville High School Track on June 21 and June 22 from 8:00am to 8:00am.

Relay For Life events are held overnight as individuals and teams camp out at a high school athletic track, park or other gathering area with the goal of keeping at least one team member on the track or pathway at all times throughout the evening, signifying that cancer never sleeps.

Teams do most of their fundraising prior to the event, but some teams also hold creative fundraisers at their campsites during Relay. Relay brings together friends, families, businesses, hospitals, schools and faith-based groups – people from all walks of life – all aimed at furthering the American Cancer Society’s efforts to save lives by helping people stay well, by helping them get well, by finding cures and by fighting back.

By getting involved with the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of RIPLEY COUNTY, you personally are making a difference in the fight against cancer. Through your donations you are helping:
