One Airlifted After Sunman Scooter Accident

SUNMAN — Authorities are investigating an accident that involved a scooter Wednesday afternoon in Sunman.

Ripley County Deputies say Corrise L. Loomis, 40, of Sunman was traveling north on Spades Road near C.R. 1100 N around 4:23 p.m.

The 2008 ROK scooter went off the roadway on the west side, colliding with a ditch after attempting to avoid a collision with an oncoming vehicle that left the scene, investigators said.

Loomis was airlifted from the scene with a fractured right leg and internal injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
